The Japanese automaker Honda launched its new ‘Urban Advanced Scooter’ the Grazia in the Indian markets with the price starting at Rs 57,897 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base Standard variant. The new 125cc automatic scooter is a sportier avatar of the existing Activa 125 and costs just Rs 400 more than its elder sibling. Honda claims that the Grazia is targeted at younger customers in the country.

The scooter is styled to look like a premium entry and flaunts large, V-shaped headlight on its front apron, dominating its face. This segment-first all-LED headlight promises powerful illumination while Honda has offered six colours at launch – a metallic orange, a gloss black, red, white, metallic grey and metallic blue.

The premium scooter gets a new instrument cluster with a digital readout, which includes a speedometer, trip meter, odometer, fuel gauge, clock and also a tachometer. The Grazia features a four-in-one lock as well, which includes a seat opener function. It also gets a unique utility pocket meant for mobile phones.

The scooter offers telescopic suspension along with a larger 12-inch wheel, where braking duties are carried out by a 190mm disc on the top-spec Deluxe variant. Both the front and rear wheels get drum type brake with Combi Brake System.

At the heart of the Honda Grazia ticks the same 125cc HET (Honda Eco Technology) engine which is already tested in the existing Activa 125. The motor comes mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and delivers 8.6PS of power and 10.5Nm of torque. The fuel tank on the Grazia has a 5.3-litre capacity, which should translate to a decent range.

At this price point, the scooter comes in the premium category and competes with the likes of the new Suzuki Access 125.
