Fashion doesn't have any definition for the crazy designers who have aced the art of creating masterpieces from the least anticipated clothing articles. A-list designers are ready to create their magic at the 5-day long extravaganza Lakme Fashion Week starting from Wednesday.

With NextGen creators flaunting their impeccable work on the opening day of the annual affair, the star-studded event kick-started in Mumbai. An array of beauties clad in the unconventional kimono-esque dresses, high waist checkered pants among the other designs graced the ramp.

Like every other year, the organisers introduce a new batch of talented designers to showcase their knack, who has been named Gen Next this year. Celebrated designers including Dhruv Kapoor, Urvashi Kaur, Ritu Kumar and Anita Dongre will present their mesmerising works on Day 1.

Lakme Fashion Week has always had a close association with Bollywood celebs, many of whom reach to brighten the event with their presence every year. Swara Bhaskar, Sushmita Sen, Kareena Kapoor and Diana Penty will reportedly walk the ramp as show-stoppers.

Taapsee Pannu and Huma Qureshi reached the fashion festival on Day 1 and motivated the young designers with their kind words. The Badlapur actress expressed, "I think the Gen Next platform at Lakme is an amazing one. It helps young and upcoming designers."
