India Knocks Out England 2-1 In The T20 Series

Rohit Sharma's ton along with Hardik's four-wicket haul helped India to win the series decider thereby winning the T20 series 2-1 against England on Sunday. Indian team has won six consecutive T20 series.

Debutant Deepak Chahar received his T20 cap from the skipper.

Indian Skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and chose to bowl with four pacers and only one spinner.

Put into bat, the Englishmen posted a huge target of 199 runs for the guests. England started strong with a 94 runs opening partnership. Jason Roy played a blistering knock of 67 runs off just 31 balls with seven biggies.

S Kaul brought the first breakthrough for India when he shocked Buttler with his swing and MS Dhoni made no mistake behind the wicket. Middle order batsmen Jonny Bairstow played a thunderous knock of 25 runs off 14 balls that took England to a total of 198. Hardik Pandya took 4 wickets, Sidharth took 2 while Chahar and Umesh shared 1 wicket each. Dhoni made a record in T20s after taking 5 catches and one run out in one match.

In response, the strong Indian batting line-up thrashed English bowlers in style. Opener Rohit Sharma scored his Third T20 ton off just 56 balls with 11 fours and 5 sixes. Dhawan departed early after which skipper Kohli joined Rohit and scored valuable 43 runs off 29 balls. After taking four wickets in the first innings, Hardik Pandya performed commendably well with the bat. He slammed the English bowlers with 33 runs of just 14 balls and wrapped up the series 2-1 against England.
