India To Face England In 1st T20I Without Bumrah

| July 3 , 2018 , 14:19 IST

Team India started their summer tour with a whitewash 2-0 over Ireland in T20 International. It was scheduled for match practice ahead of the grueling England tour and gave some momentum to the Indian team.

The real battle starts now as they take on England in the 1st of the three T20 International at Old Trafford in Manchester on Tuesday.

Both teams India and England seem to be in sublime touch. However, the injury woes are hurting the Indian team as they have lost their death-over specialist Jasprit Bumrah, and their young off-spinner Washington Sundar who has been ruled out of the T20I as well as ODI series.

Deepak Chahar and Krunal Pandya have been added to the squad as their replacements.

As far as England are concerned, the fast bowler Tom Curran, who suffered a side-strain is out from the squad. The England Cricket Board (ECB) has called up Left-Handed Batsman Dawid Malan in as the replacement.

Before the clash on 3rd July, England and India have played 11 T20I so far. The results favor England with 6 wins as compared to India’s tally of 5.

Considering the facts, Indian legendary Wicketkeeper M.S Dhoni needs to affect two more stumpings to acquire the No.1 position on the list of most stumpings in the history of T20I cricket.

The Indian Skipper Virat Kohli needs only 17 more runs to achieve 2000 runs in T20I and Opener Rohit Sharma needs to score 51 more runs to achieve the same feat. Whosoever from both achieves the feat first will become the only third player in the history of T20I cricket to complete 2000 runs and the first Indian to do so.
