Match Preview: India Takes On England In The First ODI

India will take on England in the first ODI of the three match series on Thursday. India, ranked second in the ODI ranking table have won last nine series while the table toppers England has registered ten series win in the last 12 bilateral series.

The Three-match series is an important warm up exercise for both the teams for the 2019 World Cup. India has dominated England in the last fixtures in the last series in India where the hosts won 2-1. Moreover, Indian team emerged victorious in the last meetings in England 3-1.

Both the teams will miss their star players from the bowling attack Jaspreet Bumrah and Chris Woakes.

India started the tour with a sensational T20I series win. All the players performed commendably well with both bat and ball.

The biggest worry for Indian side will be Bhuneshwar’s fitness after he missed last T20I out of stiff Back. Secondly, Shikhar Dhawan’s form will trouble the batting line up.

On the other hand, England is coming from great 5-0 ODI series win against Australia. The hosts will try to dominate the Indian side in same style. Mark Wood will join David Willey, Stokes and Liam Plunkett in the bowling attack.
