Skipper Virat Kohli scored his 34th Century in the One Day International format in Cape Town on Wednesday. This is Kohli’s second ODI century in South Africa and in this series. In the first ODI Kohli scored 112 runs off 119 balls.

The record was previously held by Sourabh Ganguly who had scored 11 centuries while leading the Indian Cricket Team.

However the most interesting fact is that Kohli has been able to achieve this feat in just 45 matches as the captain. Ganguly scored 11 centuries while leading the team in 146 ODI’s.

At the end of 50 overs India posted a target of 304 runs for South Africa losing 6 wickets. Kohli remained unbeaten at 160.

Kohli is the only cricketer apart from Sanath Jayasuriya to score a ton in each country he has played cricket in. Sachin Tendulkar too features in the list if we discount West Indies.

Kohli scored another century today, hitting his 100th six in the game.

The Indian Captain has played a total of 205 ODI matches and has an impressive strike rate of 91.77.

India leads the ODI series 2-0 and with an impressive 303 runs on the board the team will look forward to take it to 3-0.
