Many candidates appearing for the University Grants Commission’s National Eligibility Test (NET) on November 5, 2017, were eagerly waiting for their admit cards to be released. After a long wait, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has finally released the call letters for the examination.

After downloading the admit card, the students must ensure that all the details are correct and the venue of the exam is mentioned. The candidates are required to carry these admit cards for the examination as they won't be granted entry to the venue before that. The NET exam is conducted in 91 cities in 84 subjects all over the country.

UGC conducts the exams to test the eligibility of students to be considered for the posts of assistant professor and Junior Research Fellowship. While the candidates clearing JRF are qualified to pursue research in their post-graduation or related subject, they can also apply for assistant professor posts in Indian universities and colleges.

Candidates' performance in all the three exams of NET will determine their awards along with the eligibility for the assistant professor post. The candidates who qualify for the assistant professor exclusively are not considered for JRF. Only the candidates with the score above 55% in masters are eligible for NET.
