Respiratory Disorders At Peak, Noida Policemen Resort To Air Purifying Masks

While Supreme Court has taken an appropriate step by banning the sales of firecrackers in Delhi-NCR till November 1, the pollution level in the country's capital and nearby areas is still an issue.

Due to the alarming rate of rising Pollution, many cases of respiratory disorders are registered every day. In order to spread awareness and motivate the citizens to take care of themselves in such circumstances, Jaypee Hospital organised a free health check-up camp for Noida Policemen on Sunday.

The authorities also distributed around 500 N-95 masks to the policemen. The special air purifying masks block the small particulates of harmful gases and protect the user from pollution.

In collaboration with air purifier company 'Blue Air', the health camp was organised to motivate the protectors of the nation to take extra precautions during the forthcoming winters to avoid the raised pollution levels.

A senior consultant of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Jaypee Hospital named Gyanendra Agarwal claimed that due to air pollution, respiratory diseases have increased by almost 30 percent.

"Earlier, the respiratory disorders were common in people of age above 55 years but with the increase in pollutants, such problems are now common in people as young as 25 years," he said.

Agarwal further noted that this alarming situation can only be tackled if people of all age groups maintain a healthy lifestyle and take proper precautions.
