Burari Deaths: Investigation Back To Square One As Post Mortem Reveals Death By Hanging

The postmortem reports in the Burari Suicides were released on Wednesday. The reports of 10 members are out while the reports of the 11th and eldest member Narayani Devi whose body was found on the floor unlike the other members is yet to be out.

The reports of the 10 members reveal that they committed suicide by hanging and there were no other injury marks on the body. The reports also revealed that there were no traces of poison in the body.

The 11 members are suspected to have committed a ritualistic mass suicide but relatives of the family had said they had no reason to take their lives and alleged that they were murdered.

Wandering Souls

The new set of handwritten notes found from the home of the deceased family of Burari on Tuesday talked about wandering souls and apprehensions that they might not see the next Diwali.

In a note dated November 11, 2017, Lalit Bhatia, who was one of the deceased claimed that his father’s spirit visited him and he would talk and act like him and also write notes dictated by him. He mentioned in the notes that someone’s mistakes were behind the family’s failure to attain something.

The note read, “There is an influence of someone’s mistake pay attention to the warnings instead of ignoring them what if you are unable to celebrate Diwali next year? (Dhanteras aakar chali gayi. Kisi ki purani galti ke aabhaav se kuch prapti se door ho. Agli Diwali na mana sako. Chetavni ko nazar andaaz karne ke bajai gaur kiya karo
