Reports further say that Singh has been charged under Sections 363 ( kidnapping), 366 (abducting and inducing a girl), 376 (punishment for rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and also relevant sections of the stringent POSCO pertaining to sexual assault.

CBI filed a charge sheet against Sengar’s brother and four others on July 7 in connection with the killing of the complainant’s father. The father, who was in judicial custody after he got into a fight with the MLA’s brother Atul Singh Sengar, died on April 9.

The complainant has accused Sengar of raping her at his home in 2014 when she had gone to meet him about a job. In April, she tried to commit suicide outside Chief Minister Adityanath’s house, alleging that the police did not act though she had approached them several months earlier. The CBI arrested Sengar on April 13.
