The football fever has kicked in with the FIFA 2018 just 24 hours away. It is the time of the year when cheering for a non-Indian team is considered normal and not anti-national. While fans do interesting and crazy things for their favourite teams, some have taken their craze a notch higher.

Shib Shankar Patra, lives in Kolkata. He runs a teashop from the ground floor of his building. Patra is an ardent Argentina fan and his love for Lionel Messi knows no bounds, whom he considers an extension of Maradona.

Since he did not have enough money to go to Russia and cheer for his favourite team, Patra has painted his house in Argentina team colours to cheer for the team. Patra and his family will distribute t-shirts with Messi’s pictures and cut a cake on Messi’s birthday as well.

Kollam resident Sudheer is a die-hard Brazil fan. He has painted his house as well as his car and scooty in Brazil team colours. For his love for Brazilian football team, Sudhir is popularly referred to as Brazil Sudhir by people in his neighbourhood.

Apart from the colours his vehicle don the images of famous Brazilian players like Neymar, Coutinho, Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos. He took special permission from the transport department to make these modifications to his vehicles for a year.

Sudheer has been doing this for the last four world cups. He has even put up a flag of Brazil on his car.

“No doubt the team will win this time and I am going to keep the modifications for at least a year. My family is very supportive of whatever I do, but then if they know I have spent so much money on this, I am not sure they will approve. But after all, everything is for the team,” Sudheer was quoted by The News Minute.
