Oops! US Envoy To UN Nikki Haley Pranked Into Commenting On Fictional 'Binomo' Country

The United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, was seemingly pranked by a pair of Russian comedians who appeared to have tricked her into commenting on a fictional Asian country.

Posing as the Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, the comedians Vladimir Kuznetsov and Alexei Stolyarov, known as Vovan and Lexus, spoke to Halley over the phone.

As the duo made the call after Poland became one of the 35 countries to abstain on a UN vote rejecting US President Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, Halley began by thanking them as she believed them to be the Polish PM.

"Let me start with very much thanking you for the support we received on the vote today. We will never forget it," said Halley.

After exchanging pleasantries, the pranksters moved the discussion to the "situation" in Binomo, referring to it as an island in the South China Sea.

Stolyarov, posing as PM Morawiecki, said, “You know Binomo” to which Ms Haley replied "yes, yes" despite the fact that there is no such country exists.

"They had elections and we suppose Russia had its intervention,” Stolyarov continued.

"Yes, of course they did, absolutely," Haley replied.

"We’ve been watching that very closely, and I think we will continue to watch that as we deal with the issues that keep coming up about the South China Sea," Stolyarov said.

When he asked Haley what the US was planning to do about the island nation of Binomo, Haley said that she needed to “find out exactly what our stance is on that” and get back to them.

The conversation ran for more than 22 minutes during which the pranksters also discussed Ukraine.

The Russian duo of comedians are known for impersonating Eastern European officials in the past to mock and prank Western leaders.

Earlier this year itself, they reportedly pranked US Energy Secretary Rick Perry by impersonating Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman and discussing a new fuel made from manure and alcohol.
