A massive fire broke out at the top floors of Beaumonde Towers in Mumbai’s Worli area on Wednesday. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone also owns a flat in South Mumbai high-rise building but was out shooting when the incident took place.

The level-3 blaze erupted around 2 pm from a duplex apartment on the 33rd floor of B-wing of the building at Appasaheb Marathe Marg. Thankfully, no casualties have been reported so far. As soon as the news came out, six fire engines, five jumbo tankers and an ambulance were rushed to the spot.

While the cause of the fire is still unknown, more than 90 people were rescued safely. Mumbai Police ensured that "They are trying to do their best to douse the fire." The top two floors were highly affected by the fire but no further damage of property or life was reported.

Deepika Padukone stays at the 26th floor of the same wing where the fire broke out. She has her office on another floor, both of which remained unaffected by the blaze. A similar fire incident took place on June 2 at the Income Tax office in South Mumbai but there were no casualties.

The actress confirmed her safety through a tweet soon after the incident. She assured her worried fans, "I am safe. Thank You, everyone. Let us pray for our firefighters who are at site risking their lives."

On June 9 also, a massive fire broke out inside Patel Chambers in Mumbai's Fort area. A part of the building also collapsed due to fire which injured two firefighters. Last year in October, a blaze broke out at Le Mer building in Bandra where Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's mother resides.
